These days I fell inclined to be more on the producing side of the internet. As many users of the Web, I consume a lot of content but produce very little. Referring content by sharing links is not producing original content, it’s providing a recommendation (prescription ? ;-) service to a captive audience (captive because they are my friends on FB). After discussing with my young friends, some of whom produce content regularly, I set up myself to actually put out the output of some of my thoughts and discussions.

For a while I considered that I should share only the most profound reflexions and on subject where I would feel I have some credibility. Now I resolved that I could share any of my thoughts without worrying about credibility/reputation. Experience on the internet and in face to face has taught me that when I share ideas and exchange point of views deliberately, the outcome is much more interesting and enriching even (more?) when the other person has a different opinion.

Nothing new under the sun you could say. When the director of my engineering school (INSA of Lyon — 1998) commented on my Humanities report (topic was on the benefits of student involvement in associations in the education of an engineer), he precisely noted that there was a missing point in my essay: the benefits of hearing the opinion of people who disagree with you! Thank you Joël R., you were spot on.

So I hope that if these posts accomplish one thing, it will be to trigger discussion and exchange of point of views and serependity (check buzzword).
