Yesterday I watched “Hypernormalisation 2016”, a BBC documentary, that describes through history how the world has arrived to its current state. I found it very informative and to the point. I learned about events in history that I was not aware of and the role of each geopolitic actors explains a lot.

It turns out the relations between the USA and Syria played a big role from the beginning. The documentary illuminate the politic and power aspects as well as the relationship with reality and truth. From the middle east, via Reagan then Bush America, through Occupy movement and the arab Spring, a lot is covered in 2 hours.

The movie ends with the nomination of Donald Trump by the Republicans. His campaign is a vivid illustration of the importance of perception, the futility of truth and the state of “democracy” in today’s context.

Now that I understand the complexity of the situation and the motivations of actors like H. Kissinger, Reagan, Bush, Blair as well as Haffez El Assad & son, I’m trying to find a little sense in our situation and what we can do, how we should do something and how to be efficient.
