Today, I had a very enriching discussion with our friends teenagers and my daughter. The topic was “YouTube”, I know these young people are active consumer and producers on YouTube so I endeavored to ask them some questions, eager to learn from them, the generation of our future.
How did/do you discover content that you enjoy and watch regularly?
- My friend told me about this video, or this youtuber
- I searched a channel related to the topic I was interested in (funny videos, Minecraft, …)
- Everyone knows PewDiePie ! He has millions of followers and made $11 millions last year, just playing video games!
- I like this youtuber because she produces video about different topics not just Minecraft
How can I find the channel where you publish?
- Search “gaming collabors”
=> Me: I can’t find it in the list even though I search the exact name… YouTube search ranking/filter constraint?

- A collaboration on a channel or a video
We also talked about content production and they showed a lot of knowledge on video filming techniques and tips to improve the quality of their content. Video is definitely a medium they master and enjoy.
That private panel session gave me a lot of food for thoughts and further reflexions.
